Before an Interventional Procedure or Biopsy?
You will need to make an appointment for an interventional procedure or biopsy. Prior to your injection, we require recent diagnostic imaging. Due to our specialised imaging techniques (e.g. MRI NerveView and MR Discography) we may request that you have diagnostic imaging with us. We believe our unique imaging technology contributes to improved outcomes through greater diagnostic confidence in treating the correct area with appropriate medication or therapy.
Most procedures do not require specific preparation. However, there are a few such as Platelet-rich Plasma injections where we ask individuals to withhold certain medications and supplements. If you are to have a procedure done on your neck, chest, abdomen or pelvis please fast for 4 hours prior to your procedure. If you have any questions please discuss them with our reception staff when you make your appointment.
After an Interventional Procedure or Biopsy?
If you are feeling fit and well, you will be allowed to go home immediately. Sometimes we might ask you to stay with us for 30mins to ensure you are ok, especially after having a contrast injection; however, this is rare.
If you have received a Platelet-rich Plasma injection, there are special post-injection after care recommendations. We will provide you with more information at the time of booking, and confirm these instructions with you prior to leaving.
